DWD NSW AGM in Sydney
When: Saturday 17 March 2018 – 1 pm to 3.30 pm
Agenda: The Annual General Meeting formalities include reports from both the DWD NSW President and the DWD NSW Treasurer and the election of DWD NSW directors for the next 12 months. There will be an opportunity to ask questions from the floor.
During 2017 Lynda hosted excellent regional public consultation sessions on the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2017 (in Berry, Wallsend and Coffs Harbour), but Sydney-folk have not previously had the privilege of hearing from her.
Lynda will speak about the defeat of the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2017 and what is next in the campaign for NSW law reform. Nationals MP Trevor Khan, who led theNSW Parliamentary Working Group on Assisted Dying in developing and presenting the NSW bill, told us after the defeat of the Bill “I take the loss as a setback, not a defeat. We will start working again in the new year, and look to introduce another bill after the March 2019 election”. Lynda Voltz will remain as a member of that working group, who are so critical to our future success in NSW.
