DWD Central Coast quarterly meeting
When: Friday 16 August 2019 – 10 am to 12 noon
Ms Bev Symons, Coordinator of Dying with Dignity NSW Central Coast Group, will provide an update on the latest news.
Topic for discussion: ‘PALLIATIVE CARE & VOLUNTARY ASSISTED DYING: CLASH OR COLLABORATE?’
Guest speakers: Dr Jill Gordon and Ms Oana McBride.
Dr Jill Gordon, has taught generations of medical students, firstly at Newcastle University (1997-85), and later at the University of Sydney (1997-2006), and in between was the NSW State Director for training GPs for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She is a member of Doctors for Assisted Dying Choice.
Ms Oana McBride, is a committee member of Elsie’s Retreat Project, which has campaigned for several years for the establishment of a dedicated palliative care unit attached to a Central Coast Public Hospital.
