Much loved Italian disc jockey, Fabio Antoniani, euthanised himself this week following a lengthy battle with the Italian government to bring his excruciating pain to an end. He was surrounded by his family and girlfriend at a clinic in Zurich. His death, after years of campaigning for help to die in Italy, has reignited the Italian debate about laws on assisted dying, with moving tributes on front pages and in social media. Marco Cappato, an ex-Member European Parliament and pro-euthanasia campaigner who accompanied the DJ on his journey, could face up to 12 years in prison if found guilty of helping DJ Fabio to take his life.
