D.C.’s DWD law survives Republican attacks
Washington, D.C. is the sixth jurisdiction in the U.S. to enact an assisted dying statute. D.C. lawmakers are celebrating after the “Death with Dignity Act of 2015” to allow physicians to prescribe medical aid in dying survived attacks from Republican members of Congress. The D.C. Death with Dignity Act will go into effect on February 20, 2017.
