Colorado will be the next US state to vote on VAD
A bill supporting doctor-assisted dying was quashed last year by the Colorado state legislature. But in April a draft statute was filed with the secretary of statemto place the “Colorado End-of-Life Options Act” on the ballot in November. Under state law campaigners needed to collect supporting signatures totalling 5% of the number of votes cast for secretary of state in the preceding election, by a deadline of three months before election day. That meant hitting 98,492 signatures by August 8th. Campaigners submitted more than 155,000 signatures four days ahead of the deadline.
